General Description

Streptavidin coated magnetic beads are ideal for the isolation of targeted biomolecules, such as proteins and nucleic acids, protein interaction studies, immunoassays, drug screening, and cell isolation, etc.

Picture. 1 shows an example of direct capture of the targeted molecule through affinity binding between biotin and streptavidin. The streptavidin-coated magnetic particles are mixed with the biotinylated antibody. The antibody immobilised magnetic particles are further used to capture the targeted biomarker in samples. Through magnetic separation, the targeted biomarkers can be isolated for analysis.

There are 2 to 3 biotin-binding sites available for each streptavidin molecule on the surface of the bead. The binding capacity of Innov-Beads™Mirco particles, magnetic,Streptavidin coated:

  • 20-30 µg biotinylated IgG/mg beads


  • In-house blocking reagent available for achieving a low non-specific binding for assay specificity, which in turn yields a high signal to noise ration result;

Product Description

Innov-Beads™ Micro particles, magnetic, hydroxyl group has a superparamagnetic core and a silica shell with plenty of silanol groups available for efficient nucleic acid capture. Unlike the commonly used methods of isolating nucleic acids (DNA or RNA) such as centrifugation and phenol-chloroform extraction, the hydroxyl group provides an ideal way of nucleic acid extraction through magnetic separation. Mixing of the Innov-Beads™ with chaotropic salt can give rapid isolation of nucleic acids from biological samples.
